When you had set your goal, at that time you were quite excited about your decision and you were very determined about fulfilling it.
While you walk on the path of fulfilling your goal, you may encounter various kinds of situations that can disturb your mindset. You may end up feeling very bad on your inability to
achieve your goal and this can turn you into a recluse. In such a situation, if you happen to meet a person who is doing the same thing that you are doing and he is doing it more successfully, you may desire to give up your goal and become a loner. Do not worry. We have compiled a list of 5 things that can stop you from giving up:
1. Ask Yourself ‘Why’
You may want to give up your relationship or job but before you do so, you should ask yourself why did you get into it in the first place. Also, you should ask yourself why you are considering the hard step of giving up. If you are giving up your goal just because you did not much effort or because of negativity, you should reconsider your decision of quitting. At the moment, you may not be having a colorful picture of your goal. However, thinking about your start and how determined you were can let you think about your goal and pursue it.
2. Success Requires Persistent Action
If you want to win, you should be aware of the fact that
success does not come without persistent action. One cannot attain success at the very first attempt. Instead of giving up because of
failure at your first attempt, you should try doing it two times, three times or even more times until you hit success. Also, you may fail several times but if you have sheer determination, your multiple attempts will finally reap benefits and help you hit success.
3. Extend the Time Period for Achieving Goal
If you feel that you will not be able to
achieve your goal in the set time period, you can extend the time period. Extending the time period is far better than giving up your goal. When you extend the time period, make sure you give up doing other activities that are less meaningful so that more priority can be given to your goal.
4. Learn to Adapt With Different Situations
In
life, things do not always happen as the way we want them to happen. Various kinds of disturbances and hurdles come in our way. In order to fulfill your goal, sometimes you may have to do things that you may not really enjoy doing. If you shy away at such situations, you will soon lose interest in fulfilling your goal. On the other hand, if you learn to adapt with different situations, you will become more confident and you will accomplish your goal in less time.
5. Make Yourself Happy
The feeling of quitting is quite sad. Hence, before you give up, if you do things to become happy, you will start thinking positively and may develop firm desire to accomplish your goal. You can listen to happy music or play songs with motivating lyrics, spend some quality time with your family members and friends. The idea is to feel good about yourself and you will have the right mind to chase your goal.
